Also, I am not clear about which driver I need to use - in the CD I received (from Explore Labs), there are the zip files in the Windows folder "arduino-0022.zip" and also "arduino-1.0.1-windows.zip".
I have tried the Arduino UNO driver from both the zip files above and then I get the "Code 10" error message... I think I should be using the arduino-1.0.1-windows drivers, because the board I have looks like pictures of arduino-1.0.1 version I can see on the net.
Any help is appreciated...
Go to Start -> Run.
Type: devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
Device Manager should open.
Now, navigate to Ports (COM & LPT).
It should contain some device assignments with their corresponding COM ports.
[Take a note of all these COM Ports].
Now, connect your Uno board to PC.
Again, navigate to Ports section of Device Manager.
See if there is any new COM port assigned.
If yes, then you can update its driver from the arduino 1.0.1 directory.

I have already carried out these instructions.
The problem is that in the Device Manager window, I can see the Arduino Uno icon, but it has the yellow exclamation against it - I am unable to start the device. I keep getting the Code 10 message.
I attach a screen shot of the Device Manager.

Select Update Driver.
Browse to the arduino-1.0.1 directory -> select drivers -> then select Arduino Uno R3.inf file.
It should prompt a warning for Driver Signing.
Now the device should successfully enumerate.
