Arduino Board Suggestions

Postby harshkumar1 » Mon Apr 01, 2013 7:33 am

Hi,
I want to buy a Arduino Kit, but i am not sure which one would suit me. My
considerations are,
a. Ethernet port (To read an i/p from network either via webservice / text file)
b. LEDs (RGB Colored) (Based on i/p light an LED)
c. Program via USB
The idea is i should be able to light different colored light based on the i/p.

Hi,

For using network capabilities via Ethernet, you can use Arduino Ethernet Shield Rev3 with any of the Rev3 Arduino Boards.

If data processed is not so high in volume and required processing power is low, go for AVR based Arduino Uno Rev3 Board.
If amount of data processed via Ethernet is High and requires high power for data processing, go for ARM processor based Arduino Due Board.

All Arduino Rev3 Boards are programmable via USB and opensource IDE.

RGB LED can be controlled by Arduino Board as per input value by programming it as per your requirement.
